Whilst Chiropractors spend a large proportion of their time treating neck and back pain, Chiropractors also specialise in treating other areas of the body. They take a holistic approach to the body by considering a patient’s physical health, psychological, social and emotional well-being.
Chiropractors use a range of techniques to help reduce pain and to enhance function and mobility. They are well trained and will conduct a thorough case history and physical examination allowing them to formulate an individualised care plan tailored to each patient’s need.
A Chiropractor has 4 or 5 years of training and has highly developed diagnostic skills. They will be able to determine if a patient is suitable for the modalities used by a Chiropractor or if they should be referred for other types of treatment or investigations. They also maintain their registration with annual continual professional development. Ensuring that they stay up to date with the latest techniques and research, and ensuring that their knowledge is comprehensive.
